LifeReady: An Origin Story

The idea of creating a mobile progress management system occurred to Shawn Furey, Owner of LifeReady, LLC, after he had spent a few years helping people to become better managers of their day-to-day circumstances.

At that time he was working with people in highly structured social environments - like prisons, jails, and substance use recovery agencies - places where Clients were expected to operate within predictable schedules and to perform specific actions throughout the day (like going to, and participating in, group discussions, and checking-in with supportive others about how things are going). One day it occurred to him that while it's nice that his Clients were getting the help they needed in the moment it would be better if they could continue to operate, even after parting ways, within some kind of structure that could serve as kind of an exoskeleton - like the one that Iron Man wears or that the bad guy in the movie Avatar uses to make himself more powerful.

Shawn's thought was that hopefully, by continuing to operate within a predictable set of parameters, his Clients would be more likely to be able to continue to make the progress that they had been making - even after they had moved on from the place where they had begun their journey toward whatever their idea of 'a sustainable good life situation' might have been.

So, Shawn thought about it for awhile, and decided that it was something that he wanted to create, and so he set out on a journey to make his vision a reality.

Now, several years later, the LifeReady: Mobile Progress Management System is a real thing - and people can use it to boost their personal power or response-ability for the sake of helping themselves to 'build better circumstances today for better experiences tomorrow.'

People who use the LifeReady: Mobile Progress Management System can expect to apply to become a member and if we are taking new Clients we will send out an e-mail with a link to purchase one of our two membership subscriptions ($10 and $20 per month). Then, you just save our lifeready.biz webpage to your smartphone's home-screen (by clicking on the three buttons at the top right of your browser window and select 'Add To Home-screen) and log-in to our 'Member's Area.'

Once in the 'Member's Area' you'll have the option to; figure out how things are going now, to develop a plan for making small improvements to your day-to-day circumstances, and will be able to track your progress as you go along by checking off, and crossing out, action-steps, off of the 'To-Do-List,' that you create within our system. Additionally, you'll have access to our library of knowledge competencies, skills, and habits related to Life Management and you will be able to listen to the audio files and read the available e-books in order to develop your own frame of reference for how to do what Shawn calls 'Lifescaping' or 'landscaping - but for your life.'

Ultimately, by keeping an eye on how things are going, by taking intentional strategic action-steps toward one's goals, by tracking one's progress, and by talking with one of our Progress Partners, either 1-On-1 or in a group setting, a person's odds of sustaining a sustainable good life situation will be increased.
